Today's post is an exciting one. We get to talk about some great and easy gift ideas, a quick and simple holiday craft, and a giveaway! Yep, it is another giveaway. This is the season of giving after all. Stick around to the bottom of the post for all the giveaway details.
I don't know about you, but right now I am in the midst of doing my holiday shopping. At this point I am left with the people that are just plain hard to shop for. One of those people is my sister. It's not that she is picky, she just seems to buy things when she needs them, so her Christmas wish list is usually small or nonexistant.
P&G gift sets to the rescue! P&G has put together a whole line of gift sets that are available in stores right now. They are thoughtful, useful, and convenient. With a suggested retail price of only $10, they are very budget friendly too.
One of the sets that I would personally like to see in my stocking is called Soothing Moments.
- Olay Luscious Embrace Cleansing Bodywash 8.4 oz
- Olay Luscious Embrace Body Lotion 8.4 oz
- Febreze Lavender & Vanilla Comfort Candle
- Olay Luscious Embrace Body Bar 4.25 oz
- Bath/Shower Pouf
- Bonus 1-year subscription included from choice of six magazine titles
Now it is onto the easy holiday craft! I am going to tell you how to make these cute jingle bell napkin rings. Each ring takes less than 5 minutes to make! I love crafts that are quick and easy but deliver a big visual impact. That is some stress free holiday entertaining right there. :)
Jingle Bell Napkin Rings
Supplies:
- 24 gauge jewelry wire - or whatever you might have on hand
- Small bells - approximately 18 bells per ring
- Using wire cutters, cut about 6 inches of jewelry wire.
- Loop the wire through the top of one on your bells. Make sure the end of the wire is pointed down inside the bell, to avoid getting poked later on.
- String the bells on the wire, alternating colors.
- Loop the wire through the last bell to hold it in place. To make this project more cost effective, the bells only cover the top half of the napkin.
- You should have some wire left. Take the remaining wire and loop is around to the first bell. Once again, wrap it around the bell and make sure the wire is pointing down.
Now I am so excited to tell you about the giveaway. P&G is giving one lucky reader a gift basket with $90 worth of P&G products. The gift pack includes the
Olay Luscious Luxuries Set pictured here.
Also included are products from:
- Crest
- Covergirl
- Clairol
- Ivory

ReplyDeleteOur special tradition is getting the Christmas tree on my husband's birthday - his mom started the tradition when he was young to make his birthday special because he LOVES Christmas, so we do it every year!

ReplyDeleteWe teach the kids a new Christmas Hymn every year. There is nothing like the sound of Christmas music this time of year. It helps teach the kids about music and the story of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWe like to do for others, so we try to put together some little gifts for families we know every year. It's usually not elaborate or anything, but just a little something extra (like cookies, cupcakes, a small gift, etc) to say "We love you and we are thinking of you this holiday season". I think helping with the gifts and going to deliver them (or helping to package them up if they are being sent to friends farther away), helps my kids see that the holidays are more about giving than they are about receiving (at least that is my hope...my kids are little so I don't really know how impactful this exercise is yet).

In our house, we generally spend a rainy day decorating the inside of our house for Christmas. It's the perfect weather to enjoy each other's company and get into the holiday spirit (considering we don't get snow here).

ReplyDeleteYou said you wanted a Christmas tradition...well mine isn't necessarily about gifts...My hubby takes our kids for a really long bike ride on the day of my request (usually a saturday) so I can get all the presents wrapped and put under the tree without my teenagers finding out what's in each package. They look forward to the ride and I get to keep things organized and stress free. ( :
ReplyDeleteChristmas Tradition - (1) Have Santa come over to read to the kids, take pictures, and tell them things to work on. (2) Making a digital scrapbook every year for the grandparents and myself. (3) Elf on the Shelf... I love moving "Doodle" every day and having Laci find him in different spots.

We focus on things that let us enjoy each other's company - making wreaths, baking, picking out a tree. By putting the emphasis on time and experiences instead of stuff we keep things simple and joyful.

Every year we go out and everyone picks our their own new ornament. My boys just LOVE getting our their box of ornaments and looking at all of them all over again and remembering how old they were when we bought them. It's so fun and so easy to do.

It is my son's first Christmas this year so my husband and I have sat down to decide what traditions to carry on from each side of our family... My favorite tradition from my side is we open one gift on Christmas Eve... and it isn't necessarily pajamas!

My mom volunteers at the local food bank and was going to take Xmas Eve off to spend it with family, but felt bad because they needed help serving a dinner. My entire family decided she could do both and we all volunteered that evening. Some of us stacked shelves, some cooked, some served...we all enjoyed it and felt great doing it. The kids want to do it again so now it's tradition. We're all together and we're helping others. Perfect way to spend Xmas Eve.

One of our favorite ways to kick off the holiday season is to make a batch of holiday cider homemade, listen to our family Christmas mix CD, and decorate the house for Christmas together. It is a great way to spend time together as a family and to get into the Christmas spirit.

ReplyDeleteWe always choose angel from the angel tree. It's a good lesson to teach our children that Christmas isn't always about receiving gifts, that's it's good to give to those less fortunate than ourselves. My daughter is 6 and gets excited about picking the child every year, and then shopping for the gifts.
