Instructions:
- In a bucket, mix 1 part Provence Annie Sloan Chalk Paint with 20 parts water. This right 1 part paint to 20 parts water. Mix Napoleonic Blue with the same 1:20 ratio in the second bucket. The paint will settle in the water so stir the mixture again just before dyeing.
- Dip your canvas bag 2/3 of the way into the Provence paint bucket. Let the bag sit 1-2 minutes in the dye. Remove the bag and squeeze out all the excess water.
- Next, dip the canvas bag 1/3 of the way into the Napoleonic Blue and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. In the photo below you can see the top that was dyed in step 2 is hanging out the top of the bucket. Remove the bag and squeeze out the excess water.
- Allow the bag to air dry completely. Heat set the dried bag by tossing it in the dryer for 15 minutes on high.
- Once the bag is completed, you can launder as normal. So easy and fun! I especially loved the Green Table Gifts bag. What a pretty logo. Of course, I also love the message to buy handmade!
At the Mix and Mingle there was a blue or green option. In case you are interested, the green bags were used with Florence and Antibes Green.
I have some Emile chalk paint left from my Cupcake chair. I can’t wait to dye some more things. That purple would be beautiful!
Are you all excited to get dyeing with chalk paint? Leave me a comment and tell me what project you want to make.
