Cuisine: Dessert
Serves: 12 -24 cookies
Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1-2 Tbsp Water
  • 1 Tbsp Light Corn Syrup
  • Food Color
Instructions
  1. Mix the powdered sugar, vanilla, and 1 Tbsp Water. Mix it the best you can, it will be very thick.
  2. Add the corn syrup and mix.
  3. If the glaze is too thick, add water a small amount at a time, up to 1 Tbsp of water. The thinner the glaze the more it will spread and run. For these cookies I preferred a thick consistency.
  4. Add small amounts of food coloring and stir until the desired color is reached.
  5. If you find the glaze is thinner than you like, add more powdered sugar.
  6. Spoon a small amount of glaze onto the cookie and use the back of the spoon to spread it around.
  7. Decorate the cookie as desired.
  8. Let the glaze dry completely. The thicker the glaze, the longer the drying time.
