Bean Sprout Fried Rice #15MinuteSuppers

I am excited to be sharing  my first #15MinuteSuppers. A group of bloggers post meals that can be made from start to finish in 15 minutes every Friday. My 15 minute meal is Bean Sprouts Fried Rice. My Mom made this a lot when I was growing up and it is delicious! Bean Sprouts have a pretty unique taste, which I love.

Bean Sprout Fried Rice

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

2 eggs
¼ cup chopped onion
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 cup steamed rice - use Minute Rice to stay within 15 minutes
1 lb of fresh bean sprouts - My grocery store only sold it in a 12 ounce bag, so that's what I bought.
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Directions:

  1. Cook the minute rice in a pot, following the cooking directions on the box. Meanwhile, in a 12" skillet, cook the ground beef and onions.
  2. Remove the ground beef and onion mixture from the pan and drain most of the fat. Scramble the two eggs in the same pan you just cooked the beef in.
  3. After the eggs are done, combine all the meat/onion mixture, rice, fresh bean sprouts, and soy sauce.
  4. Stir it constantly until the bean sprouts are hot, about 3-4 minutes. Serve.
So easy right? I love that you can do a whole meal in 15 minutes or less! I hope you give it a try.

    1. I love how quickly fried rice comes together! The option of ground turkey is perfect to lighten it up a little.
