Honey Wheat Bread
Ingredients
- 10 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 Tablespoons dry yeast
- 4 cups warm water (must be warm, hot water will kill the yeast)
- ⅓ cup canola oil
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 Tablespoon salt
Instructions
- Add ½ of the flour (5 cups) and the yeast into your mixer and pulse until mixed well.
- Add the warm water and mix for 1 minute.
- Cover mixing bowl and let dough "proof" for 10 minutes.
- Add the oil, honey and salt to the raised dough.
- Mix until blended.
- Add the rest of the flour, 1 cup at a time, until the dough begins to form into a big ball.
- Knead for 8-10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 150 degrees.
- Grease your hands with Pam or oil and divide the bread dough in half, shaping into 2 loaves.
- Place each shaped loaf in a pan. and place both bread pans in the oven.
- Turn off the oven and let bread rise until double in size - about 20 minutes.
- Turn oven back on to 350 degrees and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove pans from oven and place on wire racks to cool.
